El próximo 24 de septiembre de 2011 se cumplirán tres años de que se nos fue nuestro Peter Gray, lo recordamos con cariño, admiración y un gran respeto.

Muy pocas personas tienen el honor de pasar a la posteridad y de que su nombre y obra en estas tierras de Dios sean reconocidas por las próximas generaciones. Peter Gray fue uno de esos elegidos

¡Qué bonito que lo sigan recordando con cariño y respeto y qué bonito que lo manifiesten  públicamente!

Peter debe sentirse muy agradecido y muy orgulloso de que el trabajo y empeño  que puso en varias  organizaciones continúe…  y con gran entusiasmo… Su amor a la naturaleza, a los animales y, desde luego, el respeto al ser humano se reflejan como en el Jardín Botánico, que sigue creciendo y aumentando su belleza –Becas ha incrementado el número de becados y graduados– Las obras de arte en el Museo Peter Gray (CUC)  han aumentado considerablemente… Y todo esto gracias al entusiasmo y cariño  que él sembró en tantas organizaciones benéficas* y a las que tantas personas seguimos apoyando.

Como decía Peter: “Cada uno de nosotros podemos hacer la diferencia en la calidad de vida de los demás. No hay nada más noble que esto.”

 Hay seres que nunca se van de nuestra vida, aunque su paso por la tierra termine, su imagen permanece  viva en sus obras,  acciones y en el corazón de todos los que tuvimos la suerte de conocerlo y contar con su amistad.

Peter Grey, un gran hombre,  artista, intelectual,  filántropo, amigo sincero con un sentido del humor muy particular, y que llegó a querer tanto a este país como a su segunda patria.

Peter trabajo  durante 40 años para  Procter & Gamble, siendo responsable  de marketing en 15 países. A través de esta empresa llego a México y conoció a su amada Bury .

 Un hombre siempre dispuesto al consejo oportuno. Fue nuestro colaborador  estrella durante ochos  años; sus artículos promocionaban Vallarta desde la óptica de un residente totalmente vallartense que disfrutaba la amistad y calidez de su gente, invitaba a involucrarse en asociaciones de beneficencia  y sentir el placer de dar una mano amiga a quien  lo necesitara, su afán de ayudar contagiaba a todos, fueron muchas las organizaciones y personas que se beneficiaron gracias a labor de Peter.

Donó una valiosa colección de arte al Centro Universitario de la Costa y, en su afán por sensibilizar a la juventud y acercar el arte al pueblo,  convenció a  sus amigos para que también donaran obras y, finalmente contar con un museo, el que atinadamente lleva  su nombre.

Querido Peter, nos dejas un gran vacio, una profunda tristeza, agradecemos a Dios el tiempo que nos dio para compartir. Siempre estarás con nosotros, tu espíritu nos animará pues, sembraste entre los vallartenses muchas semillas que florecerán día a día, gracias a tu visión de un mundo mejor. Cosecharemos con creces tus frutos.

Peter fue un hombre excepcional, un verdadero hombre renacentista en el mundo moderno. Tuvo el alma de un inglés y el corazón de un latino. Su conciencia cívica, su integridad y su cariño han hecho mella en tanta gente en todos los países donde hemos vivido. Si hubiera podido “clonarlo”…el mundo sería un lugar mucho mejor, más justo y más amable si contara con más personas como Peter. En efecto fuimos una pareja con muchas bendiciones. Nuestros amigos solían decir que nuestras sonrisas permanentes eran un reflejo del amor y respeto que sentíamos el uno por el otro. Yo me siento muy orgullosa de haber sido la esposa de Peter. Su amor eterno y su cariño constante siguen cuidándome y guiándome hasta la fecha…

 On September 24th, 2011 – it will be three years that Peter Gray has left us. We remember him with fondness, admiration and great respect.

Only very few people have the honor of moving on to posterity and having their name and work be acknowledged by future generations in this land of God. Peter Gray was one of those chosen ones.

It is beautiful that people continue to remember him with affection and respect and it is wonderful that people show their appreciation publicly.

Peter should feel very grateful and very proud that all the work and efforts he put into several organizations still continue… and with great enthusiasm… His love of nature, animals and certainly his respect for human beings are reflected in the Botanical Garden whose beauty continues to grow and expand.  The number of students and graduates of the Becas (scholarships) program has risen.  The works of art at the Peter Gray Museum (CUC) have seen a significant increase…. All, thanks to the enthusiasm and affection planted by him in so many different charities.. and thanks to the many people who continue to support them.

As Peter used to say: “Each of us can make a difference in the quality of life of others – there is nothing more noble than this.”

There are beings who will never leave our side, although their path on this earth has come to an end. Their image will forever remain alive in their work and creations and will continue in the heart of all of us who were lucky enough to have met them and have enjoyed their friendship.

Peter Grey was a great man, artist, philanthropist, intellectual and a sincere friend with a very particular sense of humor who came to love this country as if it were his second homeland.

For 40 years Peter worked for Procter & Gamble, where he was responsible for the marketing department in 15 countries. Through this company he arrived at Mexico where he met his beloved Bury.

He was a man who was always open for appropriate advice. For eight years he was our star collaborator. His articles promoted Vallarta from the perspective of a completely local Vallarta resident who enjoyed the friendship and warmth of the people, invited others to get involved in charitable organizations, experiencing the pleasure of lending a helping hand to those in need.  His zeal to help others was contagious and so many organizations and individuals benefited from Peter’s unwavering efforts.

He donated a valuable art collection to CUC  (Coastal University Center). His desire to raise awareness in young people and to make art accessible to everyone, convinced his friends to participate as well, donating their pieces of art until it was finally enough to open a museum, which – rightly so – was named after him.

Dear Peter, you leave behind a huge void and a deep sadness. We thank God for the times we were given to share with you.  You will always be with us and your spirit will continue to motivate us. You have sown so many seeds among the local population and these seeds flower day after day. Thanks to your vision, we live in a better world. And we are reaping  your fruits in full.

Peter was an exceptional man, a true Renaissance man in our modern world. He had the soul of an English man and the heart of a Latin man. His public awareness, his integrity and his affection have left marks in so many people in all of the countries where we have lived. If it would have been possible to “clone” him… the world would be a much better place – a lot more just and a lot more friendly if we had more people like Peter. Indeed, we were a couple with many blessings. Our friends used to say that our permanent smiles were a reflection of the love and respect that we felt for each other. I am very proud to have been Peter’s wife.  His never-ending love and constant affection still continue to take care of me, guiding me up to this day.
