Abril es un mes maravilloso: trae el periodo de vacaciones y de descanso, por lo que Vallarta se convierte en un emporio ideal para nuestros visitantes nacionales, que gustan de disfrutar de la playa y sus delicias.

Además, en este mes que se festeja a los niños, varias organizaciones han emprendido diversas actividades para homenajearlos, particularmente celebro  iniciativas que pugnan por dejarles un mundo mejor.

En cuanto a eventos magnos se refiere, al Gala Vallarta asistieron aproximadamente 544 representantes de 75 Hoteles y 72 Mayoristas, 43 Nacionales, 20 de Estados Unidos y 9 de Canadá. Se trató de uno de los eventos más importantes del año para la promoción de nuestro destino.

La cena de clausura se llevó a cabo en los Arcos del Malecón. El ambiente maravilló a los visitantes, sobre todo porque se revivió una cálida atmosfera de pueblito. El ballet Xiutla, Fandango, fuegos artificiales, excelente comida y servicio hicieron de esta noche algo muy especial. Se levantó esa magia de la que tanto hablan quienes llegaron hace muchos años a esta ciudad. Y ese toque mágico lo dio la quietud de sus calles, como muchos no habíamos visto jamás.

Un gran equipo compuesto de hoteleros, restauranteros y autoridades demostró que, si se une el gobierno y trabaja de la mano con la iniciativa privada, se pueden lograr buenos resultados. Así, en este caso, todos contribuyeron al éxito del suceso. Cabe resaltar la excelente participación de CANIRAC.

Los mejores restaurantes estuvieron a cargo del magno evento: con una deliciosa comida y excelente servicio lograron el marco perfecto. De tal suerte, estamos seguros de que los visitantes se llevaron un agradable sabor de boca en todos los sentidos, y a los locales, empresarios y políticos, no les quedó duda de que es urgente entrarle de lleno al tema de movilidad y sacar los camiones del centro. Esa maravillosa experiencia podría ser compartida con todos aquellos que nos visitan y quienes vivimos aquí. La movilidad urbana de Vallarta es un tema impostergable.

Enhorabuena al foro de consulta ciudadana emprendido por la actual administración, en la cual se contó con la participación de expertos que tocaron cuatro temas fundamentales como son vialidad, tránsito, espacio urbano y transporte público, lo que permitirá tener un diagnóstico más preciso de lo que se requiere en materia de movilidad, ya que nuestra ciudad no fue planeada y no se cuenta con la infraestructura vial necesaria.

Las cartas están puestas sobre la mesa. Lo que se requiere es unión de voluntades con una visión a corto, mediano y sobre todo a largo plazo en pro de todos los vallartenses, ya que esto beneficiará la imagen turística de nuestro destino, lástima que no se contó con la presencia de las autoridades correspondientes en cada área.

El rescate del centro de la ciudad, la peatonalización del malecón y el mejoramiento del destino turístico en general requieren de la participación de todos los sectores del Puerto, quienes deben anteponer el interés público sobre el privado y, sobre todo, se deberá privilegiar siempre la imagen de Puerto Vallarta.

 April is a wonderful month. It brings us a period of holidays and rest, converting Vallarta into an ideal center for those national visitors, who like to enjoy the beach and its delights.

In addition, it is the month when we pay homage to our children. Several organizations have undertaken various activities to honor them. I am particularly delighted about initiatives that strive to leave them a better world.

As grand events are concerned, Gala Vallarta was attended by approximately 544 representatives from 75 hotels and 72 wholesalers, with 43 from Mexico, 20 from the United States and 9 from Canada. It was one of the year’s most important events for the promotion of our destination.

The closing dinner was carried out at Los Arcos on the boardwalk. Visitors marveled at the ambiance, especially because the town’s welcoming atmosphere came to life. The Xiutla ballet, Fandango, fireworks, excellent food and service turned this evening into a very special occasion. The magic, often mentioned by those who arrived in this city many years ago, was in the air again. And it was the serenity of the streets that gave it that magical touch, which many had never experienced before.

A great team, made up of hoteliers, restaurant owners and authorities, proved that good results can be achieved, when the government is united and works hand in hand with private enterprise. So, in this case, everyone contributed to the success of the event. It is worth to highlight Canirac’s excellent participation.

The best restaurants were in charge of the event. Providing delicious food and excellent service they accomplished a perfect setting. In this particular case, we are confident that, in many ways, visitors were left with a delicious taste in their mouth. This wonderful experience could be shared by all those who visit us and who live here. There is no doubt in the minds of locals, businessmen and politicians, that it is urgent to deal with the issue of transportation and ban buses from downtown. Vallarta’s urban mobility is an urgent matter.

Congratulations to the Forum of “Consulta Cuidana (Citizen Query)” carried out by the current administration and supported by the participation of experts. The four fundamental issues that were addressed included public road system, traffic, urban space and public transportation. The forum will generate a much more precise diagnosis of what is required in the realm of mobility, especially since our city was not planned and does not have the necessary road infrastructure.

The cards are put on the table. What we need is a unified will, not only with a short and medium term vision, but above all a long-term vision in favor of all the people of Vallarta, as this will also benefit the tourist image of our own destination, too bad that the appropiate authorities in each area were not present.

The rescue of the city’s downtown area, the pedestrianization of the malecon (boardwalk) and the improvement of the tourist destination in general depends on the participation of all sectors of the port. Public interest should be put before private interest, and even more importantly, Puerto Vallarta’s image should always be given top priority.
