Todos somos panamericanos

Sin duda éste será un año histórico para Vallarta, que será subsede de tres eventos deportivos, recibirá  promoción y publicidad por las transmisiones directas de televisión y prensa, así como un gran número de turistas en plena temporada baja y un año particularmente castigado en el sector económico.

Gracias a los Juegos Panamericanos, tendremos una importante derrama económica, generación de empleos, flujo turístico y la proyección que habrá para este destino turístico será más que bienvenida por los diferentes servicios del sector. Jalisco contará con una cobertura mediática de clase mundial durante 17 días y una derrama superior a los 110 millones de pesos para todo el estado.

Es, pues, una gran oportunidad que debemos aprovechar para cautivar a nuestros visitantes; es tiempo de demostrar por qué nos han llamado “la ciudad más amigable del mundo”. Faltan muy pocos días y nuestra ciudad tiene que estar en pie; debemos tomar distancia de las diferencias políticas y poner nuestro granito de arena para que se viva un ambiente de amistad, seguridad y paz.

 Estos deportistas, familiares, espectadores se convertirán en nuestros embajadores de buena voluntad, si todos colaboramos para que  estas fiestas sean inolvidables y la mejor promoción que Vallarta ha tenido en los últimos cinco años.

Es hora de tomar conciencia sobre el papel que cada habitante desempeña en este destino turístico, a todos nos corresponde hacer sentir al turista como en casa, mostrar nuestra mejor sonrisa y dar el mejor de los servicios con honestidad y ética, ya que todos, de una u otra manera, dependemos de la industria turística, hoy sumamente frágil.

Los invito a sumarse a esta gran fiesta de América y disfrutar en familia de estos eventos.

En esta edición recordamos que un 24 de septiembre falleció el Sr. Peter Gray, colaborador entusiasta y entrañable amigo de esta empresa. Tuvimos la fortuna de contar con sus artículos de manera ininterrumpida durante ocho años, fue un excelente y polifacético escritor, pero  sobre todo un  gran amigo y consejero, siempre dispuesto a compartir su experiencia, su sabiduría y su apoyo.

We are all Pan-Americans!

Without a doubt this is a historic year for Vallarta. As the secondary venue for 3 sporting events during the low season, we will receive lots of promotion and advertising through direct TV and media broadcasting as well as a large number of tourists – a great boost for a year characterized particularly by its crisis in the economic sector.

Thanks to the Pan American Games we will have significant economic revenue, the creation of jobs and a wave of tourists. The whole tourist sector is welcoming the prospects and projection for our destination. For 17 days Jalisco will have world-class media coverage and expected earnings exceeding 110 million pesos for the entire State.

It is certainly a great opportunity that we have to seize in order to captivate our visitors. The time has come to demonstrate why we are called “the friendliest city in the world”. Only a few days are left and our city has to be ready, leaving behind political differences and doing our share to create an atmosphere of friendship, safety and peace.

Athletes, family members and spectators will become good will ambassadors. If we all work together to help make these events unforgettable, it will be the best promotion that Vallarta has had in the past 5 years.

It is time for each inhabitant of this tourist destination to realize that we all play an important role and that making visitors feel as if they were at home, requires a team effort. We have to present our best smile and offer the best service with honesty and integrity. In one way or another we all depend on the tourist industry which is an extremely fragile industry.

In this edition we would like to bring to mind the anniversary of Peter Gray’s death on September 24th. He was an enthusiastic collaborator and intimate friend of this company. We were fortunate to publish his articles for eight straight years. Peter was not only an excellent and versatile writer, but above all a wonderful friend and mentor, always willing to share his experience, wisdom and support.
