¡Llegó la primavera! con sus colores y aromas propios, lo que nos hará más grato el disfrute de esta hermosa Bahía de Banderas. Y al parecer también ha hecho más cálidas las conciencias pues constatamos, con gran regocijo, que finalmente existe buena voluntad política hacia el bien común, como lo pone de manifiesto la celebración de un pacto de trabajo entre diferentes áreas de Puerto Vallarta y Bahía de Banderas. Sin duda son muchos los motivos y las tareas para las que se celebró este pacto de hermandad y cooperación, y sólo queda esperar que traiga grandes beneficios para todos los habitantes y visitantes a este destino turístico.
Lo anterior parece especialmente propicio ahora, cuando el negro panorama económico que ensombrecía la administración de Puerto Vallarta poco a poco se ha despejado. Sin duda se debe a decisiones acertadas en materia de renegociación de la deuda por parte de Salvador González Resendiz, presidente municipal, quien buscó la mejor forma de manejar el cuantioso débito, lo que permitirá a esta administración salir adelante y cumplir con los compromisos pactados.
Una expectativa general es que se establezca entre las prioridades de la agenda velar por la seguridad pública, a través de un efectivo plan de prevención y respuesta rápida ante cualquier eventualidad. Ojalá la primavera también influya positivamente el talento de los diseñadores de política pública en la materia pues, la gran actividad que vivimos en Riviera Nayarit, sin duda el perfecto escenario para eventos de gran nivel como La Extravaganza Náutica, se verían seriamente afectados a causa de un manejo poco delicado en este renglón.
Afortunadamente los vallartenses son también excelentes anfitriones y sortearon con gran éxito un suceso de tal magnitud, sin precedentes en la historia de los deportes náuticos en el país, todo lo que se logró gracias al gran impulso que el gobernador Ney González Sánchez ha dado a la industria turística como primer motor del desarrollo en el estado.
En marzo la veleta, ni dos horas está quieta
Celebraremos también en este mes el Día Internacional de la Mujer, para recordar y hacer conciencia de que aún debemos trabajar y luchar por que se reconozcan los derechos de la mujer en todas las esferas sociales, especialmente en materia laboral y de seguridad. Por ello, en esta edición, tenemos el placer de compartir con nuestros lectores los rostros femeninos del 2010. Se trata de mujeres con talento, energía y liderazgo que darán de qué hablar durante este año. Sin duda su trabajo y dedicación serán un ejemplo para todo el sexo femenino.
Muchas felicidades a cada una de ellas, mi admiración, amistad y cariño; de la misma manera, una calurosa felicitación para cada una de las mujeres de Puerto Vallarta y Bahía de Banderas que han contribuido al desarrollo económico y social de este destino turístico y lo han convertido en uno de los más pujantes y con futuro de nuestro país.

It seems that it has also warmed up people’s conscience because we are witnessing with great rejoice, that finally there is some political goodwill towards the common good. We can only hope that it will yield huge benefits for all residents and visitors of this tourist destination.
The above seems particularly appropriate now as the gloomy economic outlook that had cast a cloud over the city of Puerto Vallarta is gradually clearing up. Without a doubt, this is due to the pertinent decisions regarding debt renegotiation by the Mayor, Salvador Gonzalez Resendiz. He searched for the best way to handle the massive public debt thus allowing his administration to get ahead and fulfill the commitments agreed upon.
The general public hopes that ensuring public safety will be put amongst the priorities of the agenda through an effective prevention plan and a rapid response to any eventuality. Hopefully spring will also have a positive influence on the talent of the shapers of public policy in this matter since the great activity that we experienced at the Riviera Nayarit – undoubtedly the perfect setting for high end events such as The Nautical Extravaganza – was seriously affected by an insufficiently refined handling of the issue.
Fortunately Vallarta is an excellent host. It successfully drew lots for an event of such magnitude, which is unprecedented in the country’s history of sports. All this was achieved thanks to the huge impulse that Governor Ney Gonzalez Sanchez has given the tourist industry as the state’s chief motor of development.

In this month we will also celebrate the International Women’s Day to remember and become aware that we still need to work and fight for the recognition of women’s rights in all social spheres, especially in labor and security matters. Therefore, in this edition, we are pleased to share with our readers the female faces of 2010. It is about women with talent, energy and leadership who will give us something to talk about this year. Without any doubt, their work and dedication will be an example for all women.
Congratulations to each of them; they have my admiration, friendship and affection. Similarly, a cordial applause for each of the women from Banderas Bay who have contributed to the economic and social development of this tourist destination and have turned it into the most thriving and one with the most promising future in our country.
