Mayo es un mes con muchas festividades oficiales y tradicionales que invitan a relajarse y disfrutar de cada una de ellas con la apacibilidad que merecemos, luego del trabajo.
Esta edición está dedicada, con mucho cariño, a todas las madres y maestros que celebrarán su día, acompañados de todos los que sabemos que son seres que marcan la vida como guías y ejemplos a seguir.
El papel de la madre hoy en día es muy diferente al que tuvieron las progenitoras de antaño: las primeras se enfrentan a una cultura muy veloz, a niños que respiran tecnologia y tienen mil actividades e intereses. Por eso tenemos en Rank mujeres modernas, activistas sociales, empresarias que nos dicen cómo es que han logrado el equilibrio para sacar exitosamente su papel de madres.
Puerto Vallarta está de fiesta ante la celebración de su 92 aniversario como municipio y su cumpleaños 42 como ciudad. Se avecinan grandes celebraciones, eventos culturales y deportivos que se han preparado con esmero, para no dejar pasar esta fecha tan importante. Te invitamos a unirte a esta conmemoración y a compartir el tradicional pastel que año con año se lleva a cabo en la plaza principal. Además, es un buen momento para reflexionar, ver cómo vemos nuestra ciudad hoy y como será en 10, 20, 50 y todos los años que tenemos por delante.
No está de más insistir en que es urgente que se cuente con un plan de desarrollo urbano consensado con la comunidad y en base a la opinión de expertos en cada una de la materias urbanísticas necesarias en beneficio de nuestra comunidad y para la protección de nuestro medio ambiente.
Por otra parte, estamos de manteles largos porque Vallarta será sede, del 27 al 30 de mayo, de la XXI Convención Binacional de Ciudades Hermanas, México-Estados Unidos, a la cual asistirán destacados conferencistas, alcaldes y embajadores que tratarán temas de enorme trascendencia, como educación, turismo y seguridad pública. Desde este espacio damos la más cordial bienvenida a todos nuestros visitantes, y les aseguramos que saldrán grandes cosas de estas reuniones en beneficio común. ¡Les deseamos éxito y alegría durante esta ya habitual convención de fraternidad y amistad!

The role of today’s mothers is very different from the role our mothers had. Today they face a very fast culture with children who breathe technology and have a thousand activities and interests. In our Rank column women, social activists and entrepreneurs will tell us how they have achieved balance in their lives in order to succeed in their role as mothers.
Puerto Vallarta is having a party and proudly celebrates its 92nd anniversary as a municipality and 42 years as a city. Vallarta is all dressed up because it will host the XXI Bi-national Convention of Mexican and American sister cities.
