El pasado 04 de noviembre se rindió un merecido homenaje al artista Daniel Lechón en la sala Berenice Starr de la Biblioteca Los Mangos. Con un capital de 60 años de actividad artística, la biblioteca se lució con una muestra de 60 obras del maestro y primer paisajista de Puerto Vallarta, quien evocara al puerto en sus inicios, como paraíso turístico, así también a su gente: los pescadores, los estibadores, las lavanderas del río y otras estampas. Aunque no contamos con la presencia del Sr. Lechón, su hija, la Dra. Lennys Lechón, ante el entusiasmo de la audiencia, se comunicó con él, vía telefónica, para que pudiera escuchar los aplausos en su honor. Después, se invitó a la entrada de la biblioteca, donde se exhibiría una película sobre la vida artística del pintor.

Tribute to Daniel Lechon

On November fourth a well-deserved homage was paid to artist Daniel Lechón at the Los Mangos Library’s Berenice Starr lounge. Well stocked with 60 years of artistic activity, the library showcased an exhibition of 60 works of this master and Puerto Vallarta’s first landscape artist, who brings to mind the port’s beginnings as a tourist paradise, as well as its people: fishermen, dockworkers, the river’s laundresses and other snapshots. Although Mr. Lechon himself was not present, his daughter, Dr. Lenny Lechon, moved by the enthusiasm of the audience, called him on the phone so that he could hear the applause in his honor. Afterwards, the audience was invited to enter the library, where a film was shown about the painter’s artistic life.
