Responsibility in giving and receiving
Undoubtedly, 2012 was a year of great challenges for our beloved Vallarta where, despite the crisis never before lived with such intensity, interesting projects were born, new businesses in different areas opted to invest in this city, especially on medical and educational services, as they took the challenge to install their companies here and improve the supply and quality of life of all vallartenses.
On the other hand, despite the struggle of our national life, our prosperity, social peace and good standard of living which we enjoy all those who live here – unlike other tourist destinations such as los Cabos or Acapulco-, is largely due to the great work that charities in our community make. Thanks to them many needs are covered, since the Government is not addressing them either by lack of financial resources or lack of will. People of low income benefit through these institutions either with goods such as food and medical assistance, to study grants, even at professional level, all this thanks to the arduous work carried out by these voluntary spirits.
As a matter of fact, there are over 130 associations of social assistance, largely sponsored by the American and Canadians communities who live in our cities and have been very active in all sorts of worthy causes that require impulse of citizens both in Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas. That’s why in this edition we select 12 associations that, due to their fulfillment, transparency in the resources managing and social impact, were the most notable ones during 2012.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to serve society, if you feel a commitment to improve your environment and make a change whether working as a volunteer or giving a donation, it is important to choose with the responsibility involved in the facts of giving and receiving. To give, because we spend a resource in time, money or in kind offered to someone else, therefore it is prudent to choose the organization that, in our view, will give a better use to it. To receive, because we have to know and be informed, timely and in full, how each donated dollar is spent.
This selection was carried out in conjunction with IJAS, Impulso de Águila and The VIP magazine; these are, from our point of view, the 12 associations which constitute an example; it should be noted that Impulso de Águila is committed to provide all the support for institutions wishing to formalize and professionalize the social assistance, under the principle: all together for a transparent and efficient resources management. Sometimes we think that our contribution is insignificant, but the sum of actions of all makes a difference and so, no aid is small.
Finally, just the year ends, and despite the times of adversity, I feel happy because in 2012 I was able to do amazing things that I will never forget and because, along with my work team, we were able to make The VIP, part of the festivities and joys of the Vallartans, who shared and graced us with their great moments. My desire is that in this New Year 2013, everything will be prosperity and harmony to Vallarta and Mexico. Merry Christmas and a better New Year!
